Recognizing Achievement and Resilience: Dr. Anthony Jack

As part of First Generation College Celebration Week, UC Merced and the Bright Success Center are proud to bring to campus scholar and author Dr. Anthony Jack. His research documents the "doubly disadvantaged" – those who enter college from local, typically distressed public high schools – and the "privileged poor" ­– those from boarding, day and preparatory high schools.

The first 50 to attend will receive a signed copy of Dr. Jack's book, The Privileged Poor: How Elite Colleges are Failing Disadvantaged Students.
